Guatemala

In Guatemala coffee came from Caribbean in 1700 and after this the cultivation of coffee started in this region. This is the place where the Maya ruled. But Guatemala started their export in the middle of 1800’s because there were square-rigged sailing ships which could only travel downwind. So it was easy to travel towards the coast of Guatemala but difficult to go back. In the middle of 1800 there was invented the clipper ships which was a major breakthrough for the commercial export.

When the export began the small grower expanded their production and the production of coffee increased. Most of the cultivated land of coffee was owned by the people of the Spanish conquistadors and kept the native Maya people under themselves and these worked for them in the farms of coffee.

The government of Guatemala enacted a law that was intended to give opportunities to the foreigner investor to come here and invest in the country. The government granted exemptions for taxes and import duties on machinery and tool. Many Germans came to Guatemala and utilized the opportunities in a positive way. They made their whole set up for growing, process and export of coffee from Guatemala. The efforts of Germans had good effect on the coffee industry of Guatemala. Capital and modernization came to the under developed country and the Germans made the railroad from the mountainous interior to the sea to transport coffee. They constructed sea ports for the ships and processing plants. The germens gave rights to the Mayan people and paid them for their labor.

The percol produce organic Arabica coffee and they claim of receiving suitable price and give high quality coffee. The flavor of the coffee is astonishingly seductive and addition this quality it give taste of dark chocolate mixed with fruit. The smell of the coffee is very pleasant and takes the place of a quality of wine. This is a mild coffee and it is prepared from the beans of the organically grown Arabica beans. The plants of this coffee are present on the mountain of Caribbean mountain of Guatemala which is 5000ft above from the sea level. The climate and atmosphere of the area is very ideal for producing such a great quality of coffee and this give the beans of coffee addition quality of perfect balance of acidity and pleasant flavor.

Nowadays the coffee of Guatemala is exported to many countries and has good demand among aficionados.
